Our Proud History

We strive to provide an excellent all-round education to all of our pupils, and we offer a stimulating and challenging academic programme, a vibrant sporting programme and a wide range of cultural activities.

The three St George’s Schools, the Pre-Primary, the Preparatory and the St George’s College are independent, co-educational schools situated in Park Drive, St George’s in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Schools were founded in 1936 and the schools caters for approximately 600 children aged 3 to 18, from Grade 000 to Grade 12.

St George’s provides a warm, caring environment that nurtures the complete person, enabling students to develop their full potential.  It’s not just the exceptional teaching and the beautiful surroundings, it’s the joy of watching young people who come here to flourish and grow.

Our motto “Virtute et Prece” (With courage and prayer) encapsulates the beliefs and ideals in our institution. The St George’s family is characteristic by the enduring qualities of Respect, Integrity, Commitment, Kindness and lastly Family and Fellowship. We believe these values create a lasting foundation for life and learning.
